What are different types of Army combat military jobs?

I'm trying to understand the variety of Army combat roles available. What are some examples of military jobs focused on combat, and what do they involve? I'm considering joining after high school, so any insights would be appreciated!

There are numerous combat roles in the Army that accommodate various skill sets, backgrounds, and areas of interest. Here are a few examples:

1. Infantryman (11B): The infantryman is a ground-force soldier who often engages in direct frontline combat. Their duties commonly include detecting and eliminating enemy combatants, securing areas, and navigating physical and combat obstacles.

2. Cavalry Scout (19D): These individuals act as the "eyes and ears" of Army units, participating in reconnaissance and surveillance operations. They're responsible for detecting enemy forces and reporting combat area information.

3. Armor Crewman (19K): Armor crewmen handle highly armored vehicles like the M1 Abrams tank. They are responsible for tank operations, target engagement, and onboard maintenance.

4. Field Artillery (13B): The primary role of this job is to support infantry and tank units in combat by firing, recovering, and loading big guns.

5. Combat Engineer (12B): Combat engineers are specialized soldiers who handle construction and demolition operations in combat environments. They might build or breach trenches, make or clear minefields, or construct/deconstruct bridges.

6. Special Forces (18X): They are part of the Army's special operations community, often tasked with unconventional warfare, foreign internal defense, direct action, and counter-terrorism missions.

7. Ranger (75th Ranger Regiment): Army Rangers are a rapidly deployable light infantry force with specialized skills that enable them to engage a variety of targets.

These roles each have unique requirements and extensive training to ensure soldiers are thoroughly prepared for their responsibilities on the battlefield. If you're considering joining the Army, your physical fitness, adaptability, mental toughness, communication and teamwork skills, and medical qualifications among other factors would be considered in determining the best fit for you.
