Starting a new high school club: ideas?

Hey there, I'm a junior in high school and I want to start a new club at school, but I'm struggling to come up with ideas. Can you guys suggest some interesting and engaging options? Preferably, it should be something that would look good on a college application too. Thanks for your help!

Hi! It's awesome that you're considering starting a new club at your school. When brainstorming ideas, try to think about what you are passionate about or subjects that have a significant impact on you and your community. This way, you're more likely to stay engaged and the club will reflect your genuine interests. Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Environmental Club: Focus on raising awareness about environmental issues and work on local projects such as clean-ups or tree planting.

2. Coding Club: Teach fellow students basic coding skills, work on projects together, and potentially enter programming competitions.

3. Entrepreneurship Club: Encourage students to develop their own business ideas, discuss entrepreneurship concepts, feature guest speakers, and perhaps even raise funds for these ideas.

4. Community Outreach Club: Organize volunteering opportunities and collaborate with local non-profit organizations to make a positive impact on your community.

Remember that colleges are more interested in the quality of your involvement in a club rather than the topic itself. A strong commitment and making a real impact on your school and community will make your club stand out on your application. Good luck!
