Are there military jobs that require a 90 ASVAB score?

I'm prepping for the ASVAB and aiming for a high score. Could someone share which military jobs necessitate a score of 90 or above? Trying to set my sights on something appropriately challenging.

It's great that you're setting high goals as you prepare for the ASVAB with the intent on joining the military. However, keep in mind that the overall ASVAB score (also known as AFQT score) is not typically used to determine eligibility for specific military jobs. The AFQT score, which is calculated from four areas of the test (Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, and Mathematics Knowledge), is generally used to determine if you qualify to enlist in the military and which branches you qualify for.

Specific job qualifications in the military (called MOS in the Army and Marines, ratings in the Navy and Coast Guard, and AFSC in the Air Force) are usually based on line scores. Line scores are combinations of different subsets of the ASVAB and different branches calculate these scores differently.

Therefore, while your goal of a 90 or above AFQT score is commendable, it may not necessarily dictate the jobs that you'd qualify for. Having a high AFQT score can make you a more competitive candidate for enlistment and possibly for more selective programs within the military.

To pinpoint what you want to do in the military, consider researching jobs that interest you, then look up their required ASVAB line scores. Then, you can focus your preparation on those specific areas of the ASVAB. Good luck with your ASVAB preparation!
