What military jobs are available with a 41 ASVAB score?

I'm considering enlisting but my ASVAB score is 41. Are there any specific military jobs that would be available to me with this score? Any advice or experiences would be really helpful!

Your ASVAB score is an important element of your enlistment, as it does determine what Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) you can qualify for in the different U.S. military service branches. It's important to understand that each branch has different minimum score requirement and calculates the ASVAB scores differently depending on the job.

With a score of 41, you'll likely have several options available to you, although some occupations requiring higher scores or additional line scores might not be feasible.

In the Army, for instance, many MOS options require a combined score from multiple sections of the ASVAB exam, such as clerical, combat, field artillery, general maintenance, and others. Jobs in general maintenance, which include roles such as power generation equipment repairer, track vehicle repairer, and utilities equipment repairer, usually require fairly moderate combined scores, and could be achievable with a 41.

Over in the Navy, there are several roles you could consider, such as an Aviation Boatswain's Mate or a Culinary Specialist. For the Air Force, the minimum ASVAB score for enlistment in general is 31 for high school diplomas and 50 for GEDs, so you're on track there, but the Air Force also considers MAGE (Mechanical, Administrative, General, and Electronics) scores for specific jobs.

Do keep in mind that ASVAB scores aren't the only factor in determining your potential military career path. Physical requirements, security clearances, and educational background can play a role as well.

Your best course of action would likely be to speak with recruiters from the different service branches to explore what specific roles could be open to you with your score and based on your individual interests and aptitude. Good luck!
