What are the medical standards for the Indian Naval Academy?

Can someone share details about the medical standards required for joining the Indian Naval Academy? I'm wondering if there are specific health criteria or tests that applicants need to pass before admission.

Sure, I can help provide some information regarding the general medical requirements for the Indian Naval Academy.

1. Height and Weight: The minimum acceptable height is 157 cm for males and 152 cm for females. Weight should be proportionate to height and age.

2. Eyesight: For technical services, the acceptable vision standard is 6/24 in each eye or 6/6 (better eye) and 6/12 (worse eye). For non-technical services, it is 6/6 (better eye) and 6/12 (worse eye). Candidates should not have color blindness or night blindness.

3. Cardiovascular System: The cardiovascular system should be healthy. Any evidence of cardiac disease could lead to disqualification.

4. ENT: There should be no degree of deafness or persistent ear discharge. The candidate should not have any other condition (such as atrophic rhinitis, or nasopharyngeal growth) which may cause airway obstruction or a fit condition during a diving operation.

5. Dental: Should have healthy gums and a minimum of 14 dental points.

6. General Health: The candidate must be in good physical and mental health. There should be no evidence of a weak constitution, bodily defects, or being underweight.

7. Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are only permitted on the inner face of forearms i.e., from inside of the elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of the palm/ back (dorsal) side of the hand.

These are just the general guidelines and the actual tests and evaluations may vary. It's also important to note that if a candidate doesn't meet the required medical standard, he or she may be given the option to correct certain defects if they are correctable. Please keep in mind that these are general guidelines and for the most accurate and specific information, it would be best to consult with the official Indian Naval Academy resources or speak with a recruitment officer.
