Is the Naval Academy Prep a College Course?

I'm looking into the Naval Academy Prep School as an option. Is it structured like a college course, and does it prepare you similarly for the actual Naval Academy?

The Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) is a 10-month long program designed to prepare candidates for the United States Naval Academy (USNA). It's not exactly a college program, but it provides similar academic rigor and structure, focusing on strengthening your math, chemistry, English, and physics skills. The objective is to ensure that candidates are academically ready to tackle the challenging course load at the USNA.

NAPS also places a significant emphasis on physical and military training. It is mainly a stepping-stone for students who demonstrate potential for Naval Service but are not yet fully prepared for the academic and physical rigors of the Naval Academy. However, going to NAPS does not guarantee admission into the Naval Academy. It is a preparatory stage, and candidates still need to meet all requirements and be nominated for the USNA.

In conclusion, while it's not strictly a 'college course', NAPS does mimic the rigors and structure of a college, with the added layer of military discipline and training. It is indeed designed to prepare students for the actual Naval Academy.
