The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) has a holistic and competitive admissions process. The most important components they review include academic strength, leadership qualities, physical fitness, and character.

1. Academic Strength: Your high school GPA, the rigor of your courses, and your SAT or ACT scores are key indicators. Although there is no hard and fast rule, successful applicants typically score around a 1200 or higher on the SAT and a 28 or higher on the ACT, with a GPA above 3.5.
