Is the Naval Academy Considered Ivy League?

I've heard a lot about the Naval Academy and its prestige, but I'm curious if it's considered part of the Ivy League schools or if it's just similarly prestigious.

The United States Naval Academy is not, in fact, considered an Ivy League school. The Ivy League is a specific group of eight private institutions in the Northeast United States that were grouped together due to the similar scope of their academic excellence, their long-standing tradition, and reputation: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale.

However, the U.S. Naval Academy, located in Annapolis, Maryland, is indeed highly prestigious and selective in its own right. It's one of the five U.S. service academies, which also include the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy. These schools provide a rigorous education along with military training, with graduates going on to serve as officers in their respective branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.

So while it's not an Ivy League, its selective admission process, rigorous academic program, and tradition of producing esteemed military leaders make the Naval Academy equivalent in regard to prestige.
