How do you get a nomination for the Coast Guard Academy?

Unlike other service academies such as the Naval Academy or the Air Force Academy, the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) does not require a Congressional nomination as part of the application process. Instead, admissions selection is based solely on the whole person evaluation of a candidate.
