What's the GPA requirement for Naval Academy acceptance?

I'm interested in applying to the Naval Academy and was wondering what GPA I should aim for. Do they have a specific cutoff, or is there a range that successful candidates typically fall within?

The United States Naval Academy, like many service academies, does not have a specific GPA cutoff, but academic excellence is certainly a key factor in their admission process. While they evaluate applications holistically, it's important for candidates to strive for strong academic performance.

In general, those admitted typically have a GPA of around 3.66 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

However, GPA isn't the only factor the Naval Academy considers in its admissions process. They also take into account standardized test scores, physical fitness, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and other factors. That being said, a lower GPA can potentially be offset by strong performance in other areas, but a highly competitive GPA, particularly in rigorous courses, generally increases one's chances of admission.

I advise you to continue striving for academic excellence while also focusing on developing other aspects of your application. Best of luck!
