How intense is the Coast Guard Academy Basic Training?

I'm interested in the Coast Guard Academy and trying to find out more about their basic training. What should I prepare for if I decide to go this route? How does it compare to other military academies?

The United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA)'s basic training, known as Swab Summer, is an intense seven-week program designed to instill discipline, honor, respect, and commitment in each of the incoming cadets, or "swabs."

During Swab Summer, cadets participate in a variety of rigorous physical, academic, and military training activities. These include physical training (PT) exercises, drills, seamanship and sailing instruction, and coursework in navigation, nautical science, damage control, and other Coast Guard-related subjects. The program is designed to test and strengthen the swabs' endurance, resilience, and leadership skills, while helping them understand the Coast Guard's core values and mission.
