Understanding the Coast Guard Academy Admissions Status

I'm currently a junior in high school and considering applying to the Coast Guard Academy. Can anyone share what the admissions status process is like and any tips to ensure I'm on track for my application?

Applying to the Coast Guard Academy can indeed be a complex process since it's a service academy. Here's a general rundown of what to expect:

1. Candidate Profile Creation (April – December): As a high school junior, you can start your application process by creating your candidate profile in the April of your junior year. Essentially, this step includes filling in fields that capture details like your grades, class rank, standardized test scores (if applicable, as the Coast Guard Academy is test-optional), and extracurricular activities.

2. Personal Fitness Exam (PFE): You'll need to complete a fitness exam, which includes push-ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5-mile run.
