What military jobs can women pursue?

I'd like to know what military roles are commonly pursued by women. Are there any particular options or paths that are popular or beneficial for women in the military?

Today, women can pursue any military job they are qualified for. Restrictions on women serving in combat roles was lifted by the U.S. Department of Defense in 2015, opening up all positions without exception.

Some common military roles pursued by women include aviation warfare, cyber warfare, medical service or nursing, intelligence analysis, military police, and logistics. Moreover, while serving, many female soldiers have made substantial impacts in fields such as research and development, training, and engineering.

In the Army, women often opt for jobs in the medical field as combat medics or nursing. This is not just specific to the Army, but across all branches, including the Air Force, Navy, and Coast Guard.

In the Navy and Air Force, women have increasingly been entering aviation roles. This includes being trained as pilots, navigators, or aviation engineers, often operating sophisticated aircraft such as helicopters, fighters, and heavy transport airplanes.

In terms of Intelligence, women often work as analysts, gathering information from a variety of sources to brief commanders on potential threats and strategies. This is a field that has seen significant growth in female representation across all branches.

Finally, while traditionally male-dominated, the engineering and technology fields within the military have seen a rise in female participation.
