What courses are offered at the Coast Guard Academy?

I'm curious about the range of courses available at the Coast Guard Academy in New London. Are there unique or specialized programs for cadets? I'm considering applying and want to know if their courses align with my interests.

The United States Coast Guard Academy offers a robust curriculum focusing on leadership development and professional training. The major disciplines they offer span numerous fields; however, they are fundamentally grounded in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The academy offers eight majors: Civil Engineering, Marine and Environmental Sciences, Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operation Research & Computer Analysis, Government, and Management. Each of these courses comes with a series of specialized sub-disciplines, giving students a variety of options to pursue their interests.

While at the academy, cadets are also expected to take part in courses for nautical science, leadership, law enforcement, national security policy, and strategic intelligence, regardless of their chosen major. These subjects aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of the responsibilities and skills required in different areas of the Coast Guard service.
