Healthcare internships for high school students?

Hello! I'm a high school junior interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, and I've been actively searching for internships I could apply for during the summer. Does anyone know of any healthcare internships or programs for high school students? Preferably something related to public health, medicine, or healthcare policy. Thanks in advance!

Hey there! It's awesome that you're interested in healthcare and looking for internships in high school. A couple of programs come to mind that you might want to check out:

1. The National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine (NYLF Medicine) is a program that allows high school students to explore various medical fields and interact with healthcare professionals.

2. The CDC Disease Detective Camp (DDC) is a one-week, day camp for high school students interested in public health, and it takes place at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

3. Some local hospitals and clinics may also have volunteer opportunities or internships for high school students. Reach out to the facilities in your area to learn more.

Additionally, look into summer college programs at universities with strong healthcare-related programs, as they may have pre-med, public health or healthcare policy programs for high school students. CollegeVine also has an article full of medical internships and programs for high school students: https://blog.collegevine.com/medical-internships-for-high-school-students

Best of luck and hope this helps!
