What qualifications are required for the Coast Guard Academy?

I'm considering applying to the Coast Guard Academy, and I want to make sure I'm eligible. What are the key qualifications and requirements for admission?

The United States Coast Guard Academy has several requirements for admission that are consistent with criteria for military service academies. Here are the important ones:

1. Citizenship: As per the requirements, you must be a U.S. citizen. The Academy generally doesn't accept applicants from foreign countries, except under certain congressionally authorized exceptions.

2. Age and Marital Status: Applicants must be between 17 and 22 years old as of July 1 of the year of entry. In addition, applicants should be unmarried, not pregnant, and have no legal obligation to support dependents.
