What military jobs are available with line scores over 100?

I'm trying to figure out which military roles are accessible with line scores above 100. Are there specific job opportunities I should be aware of if I achieve this level? Guidance would be appreciated!

In the military, a line score over 100 in a certain area can provide you with a wider range of opportunities. While each branch of the military has its own set of line scores and corresponding jobs, the principles are generally the same. The line scores are a series of composite scores, calculated from individual sub-tests on the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), that help the military determine your eligibility for certain positions.

The Army, for example, uses line scores such as Combat (CO), Field Artillery (FA), General Maintenance (GM), and Skilled Technical (ST). Each of these line scores requires the results from different combinations of ASVAB sub-tests. A high ST score (which includes Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, General Science, Mechanical Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge) could qualify you for jobs like Geospatial Engineer or Cryptologic Linguist.

The Navy, on the other hand, calculates line scores differently. The key scores here are General Technical (GT), Mechanical Comprehension (MC), Electronics (EL), Operations Specialist (OS), and Nuclear Field (NF). A high NF score could qualify you for roles in the nuclear field such as Machinist's Mate or Electrician's Mate.

The Air Force uses four composite scores: Mechanical (M), Administrative (A), General (G) and Electronics (E). For example, a high General score can open the doors roles like Operations Intelligence or Geospatial Intelligence.

Typically, a score above 100 is considered good and should offer a wider range of career possibilities. However, it's essential to note that line scores aren't the only deciding factor for job placement. Other factors include the needs of the military branch at the time, physical condition, moral character, and more. Always it's important to do research and discuss with a recruiter in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of your options.
