Which military roles are considered the safest?

I'm looking into possibly joining the military, but safety is a big concern for me. Could anyone share which jobs in the military are typically seen as safer or less risky compared to others? Thanks!

While every role in the military inherently carries some level of risk, certain roles are often seen as less dangerous, mostly non-combat roles.

1. Administrative Roles: These roles include positions like human resources specialists, finance and accounting, legal services, public affairs officers, to name a few. These roles are primarily desk jobs and generally include limited risk.

2. Healthcare Services: Military branches have their own medical personnel, including doctors, nurses, paramedics, and medical technicians. They primarily work in military hospitals and clinics, and their primary role is the health and well-being of the service members and their families.

3. Technical Roles: These roles such as IT specialists, telecommunications, and cybersecurity experts mostly operate in secure environments. They offer a set of practical skills that are also transferable to civilian jobs.

4. Supply and Logistics: This role involves procurement, warehousing, and distribution of military equipment, supplies, and personnel.

5. Military Intelligence: Analysts in this field work with classified information to predict what enemies will do and help make informed decisions.

6. Aviation: Depending on the specific role, aviation can be low-risk. Air traffic controllers, for example, are very different from fighter or helicopter pilots when it comes to risk.

Lastly, remember all branches of the military, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force, have these roles. It's advised to get in touch with a recruiter in the specific branch you are interested in to get more detailed information on the roles. Please know that even in non-combat roles, there may still be risks associated with being a member of the military, including possible deployment to combat zones.
