Comprehensive List of U.S. Military Job Options?

Is there a detailed list somewhere of all the different jobs available in the U.S. military? Trying to get a sense of the variety of paths I could take if I decide to enlist.

There isn't a one-stop resource that lists all the jobs in the U.S. military – you'd need to check each branch's website individually for a comprehensive overview. Given the vast number of roles available, I'll share a broad overview here by branch.

Remember, each of these categories comes with numerous specialized roles:

U.S. Army: Combat, Medical, Engineering, Legal & Law Enforcement, Arts & Media, Aviation, Chaplain Corps, Computers & Technology, Intelligence & Combat Support.

Air Force: Administration & Support, Air Crew, Communications & Intelligence, Logistics & Maintenance, Medical & Healthcare, Special Operations, Combat & Security.

Navy: Administration, Aviation, Chaplain & Religious Services, Construction, Engineering & Applied Science, Healthcare, Legal & JAG, Nuclear Energy, Public Affairs, Special Operations.

Marines: Enlisted MOSs involve combat & security, Intelligence, Aviation & Air Combat, Logistics, Computers & Technology. Marine Corps Officer MOSs involve different ground, air, cyber, and logistics operations.

Coast Guard: Operations & Aviation, Law Enforcement & Security, Electronic Technology, Administrative & Scientific, Deck & Ordnance.

Space Force: Entrusted with monitoring space, high-frequency broad-spectrum emissions, missile warning and deterring aggression.

Depending on your interests, you can tailor your military career path. Visit each armed service’s official recruitment website to see more detailed descriptions of potential roles. Talking to a counselor, recruiter or someone who is currently serving or has served can also provide real-life insight about military careers. Do remember, choosing a military career is a major decision, so you should thoroughly research and consider all options before making a decision.
