Which military jobs don't require security clearance?

I'm thinking about joining the military but I'm a bit concerned about the security clearance process. Are there any jobs that don't need security clearance that might be a good fit?

While many roles in the military do require a security clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work, not all positions have this requirement. Here are a few examples:

1. Combat Specialty Occupations: These are roles primarily engaged in direct combat operations, such as infantry, artillery, and special forces. While some of these roles might require clearance depending on specific duties or assignments, many don't inherently need it.

2. Healthcare Occupations: Medical roles like combat medics, nurse corps officers, and health care officers often don't need security clearance unless they're in a position where they will have access to sensitive information.

3. Administrative Occupations: Roles such as unit supply specialists, human resources specialists, or financial management technicians typically don't require security clearance.

4. Transportation and Material-Handling Occupations: These include roles such as motor transportation operators or petroleum supply specialists who are responsible for the movement and storage of military equipment, vehicles, and personnel.

5. Maintenance and Repair Occupations: People in roles like machinists, mechanics, or equipment repair technicians generally do not need security clearance.

It's worth mentioning that while these roles may not inherently need a security clearance, specific assignments within these fields may require it. Ultimately, the security requirements will depend on the particular job and the duties it involves. To get the most accurate information, reach out to a recruitment officer or career counselor within the branch of the military you're considering. They should be able to give you more specific advice based on your interests and skill set.
