Enlisted personnel acceptance rate at the Naval Academy?

I'm currently enlisted and considering applying to the Naval Academy. Does anyone know what the acceptance rate for enlisted personnel is? Trying to get a sense of my chances!

The United States Naval Academy does reserve a certain number of spots for its enlisted sailors and marines each year. While the exact acceptance rate for these candidates can fluctuate among application cycles, generally, around 170 enlisted individuals are admitted into each class, which includes enlisted from Active Duty, Naval Reserves, and other military branches. This makes up about 17% of the average incoming class of 1,200 midshipmen.

It's also important to note that the selection process evaluates a number of factors beyond just current military status. These include academic achievement, leadership capabilities, physical aptitude, and medical qualifications. Candidates are advised to have strong performances in high school or college coursework, particularly in math and science.

Boosting your application with well-rounded extracurriculars can be beneficial too. This could include meaningful involvement in sports, clubs, volunteer work, or specialized training in your military role. Showing a commitment to leadership, both in your military career and personal pursuits, will help strengthen your application.

In addition, securing a nomination is a critical part of the process. You can get a nomination from sources such as a U.S. representative, senator, the Vice President, or the Secretary of the Navy, among others. As an enlisted service member, you would usually seek a nomination from the Secretary of the Navy.

Remember that your current military experience could help showcase your dedication, leadership, and understanding of Naval commitments, potentially improving your chances of getting accepted.
