What Can I Expect from U.S. Naval Academy's Summer Seminar?

I'm really interested in attending the U.S. Naval Academy and I've heard a lot about the Summer Seminar. Can anyone tell me more about what the experience is like and how to apply? Is it worth attending?

The United States Naval Academy's Summer Seminar (NASS) is a one-week program that introduces you to life at the academy, where you can experience first-hand what it's like to be a Midshipman. You participate in academic workshops, physical fitness training, and experience life on the Yard (which is what the Naval Academy's campus is called).

The academic program involves hands-on learning in areas like information technology, naval architecture, mechanical engineering, oceanography, mathematics, history, and meteorology, giving you a taste of the Naval Academy's rigorous academic program.

Physical training is also a significant part of NASS. It includes activities such as morning workout sessions, sea trials (a day of fun, yet challenging, physical events), and intramural sports.

The application process for the Summer Seminar involves filling out a questionnaire around the beginning of the year, usually in January. You're required to provide basic information such as school details, academic statistics, physical fitness levels, and leadership involvement.
