What scholarships are available for Cambodian college students?

I'm Cambodian and will be applying to colleges soon. Are there specific scholarships or financial aid opportunities for Cambodian students that could help me? Any guidance would be appreciated!

Absolutely, there are several scholarships specifically designed for Cambodian students or students from Southeast Asian descents that you can consider.

1. The Asian Pacific Fund administers a number of scholarships each year. The eligibility criteria vary across the different scholarships they offer, so it's worth checking out their offerings to see if you qualify for any of them.

2. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF) offers scholarships to students who are of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity and plan to attend a U.S. accredited college or university.

3. The Gates Millennium Scholars Program, although not specifically for Cambodian students, has a record of granting scholarships to ethnically diverse high school seniors with a high academic performance.

4. The Southeast Asian Education Coalition offers scholarships to students of Southeast Asian descent, including Cambodians. Like the other scholarships, the criteria vary, but they typically require that you are enrolled in a high school or are a current undergraduate student.

5. Finally, your local community may have specific scholarships for Cambodian students. Do reach out to local community organizations or places of worship, as they may have information about these kinds of opportunities.

Remember, your best resource for scholarship information is generally the financial aid office at the schools you're interested in. They should be able to help you find scholarships and financial aid opportunities, and guide you through the application process. In addition, keep in mind that many colleges and universities offer financial aid packages based on need, so be sure to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to see what kind of federal aid you may be eligible for. Good luck!
