Can you apply for scholarships after being accepted to college?

I've just received an acceptance letter from my dream college. Is it too late to apply for scholarships now, or do some scholarships still accept applications after you've been accepted? Any advice on which ones to look into?

Absolutely, you can apply for scholarships even after being accepted to college. In fact, there are plenty of scholarships with deadlines in the spring semester or even in the summer before the upcoming academic year, so it may be to your advantage to keep an eye out for opportunities that could still help reduce your overall cost of attendance.

It's worth keeping in mind that scholarships aren't solely from colleges themselves. Many businesses, non-profit organizations, and private foundations offer scholarships, and their deadlines can be any time throughout the year. You may be eligible for local scholarships from organizations in your community, or for national scholarships related to your upcoming field of study.

Remember that each scholarship will have its own requirements and application process. Some scholarships may require an essay, an interview, or letters of recommendation. It can be helpful to create a calendar or spreadsheet to keep track of the scholarships you're interested in, what their requirements are, and when their application deadlines are.

In terms of specific scholarships, a broad search on online platforms should yield a number of scholarships open to high school seniors and current college students. This way, you can tailor your search to opportunities that align with your talents, experiences, and interests.

Remember to also reach out to the financial aid office at the college where you've been accepted. They're a valuable resource and often have a wealth of information on additional forms of financial aid that might be available to you.

Every dollar you're awarded in scholarships is a dollar less you have to borrow or pay out of pocket, so it's definitely worth continuing to apply even after being accepted. Good luck with your scholarship search!
