Difficulty of AP World History?

Hey everyone! I'm considering taking AP World History next year, but I'm not sure about the difficulty level. Can anyone share their experience with the course and how hard it was compared to other AP classes?

Hey! It's always a good idea to ask about the difficulty of AP classes before jumping in. AP World History, like most AP courses, requires a certain level of dedication and effort to succeed. The course covers a vast time period, from ancient civilizations through the present, so there's a lot of material to learn. Furthermore, the focus is not just on facts but also on understanding themes, analyzing documents, and making connections across history.

Compared to other AP courses, it falls in the middle in terms of difficulty. It might not be as demanding as AP Physics or AP Calculus, but it is generally considered more challenging than AP Psychology or AP Environmental Science. Keep in mind that the difficulty can vary depending on your school, teacher, and your own strengths and interests.

If you enjoy history, have solid reading and writing skills, and are willing to devote time to studying, you should be able to handle AP World History. Remember, it's more important to choose classes that align with your interests and goals rather than just picking the hardest ones! Good luck!
