I'm interested in the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship and need to know if I meet the eligibility criteria. What sort of requirements do they usually have, and is there anything I should be aware of before applying?
To be eligible for the Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship, you must:
1. Be a U.S. citizen.
2. Be graduating from a high school in the United States.
3. Be planning to enroll in a four-year college or university in the U.S. for the upcoming academic year.
As for attributes that the scholarship committee values, they are generally looking for students who demonstrate leadership skills, academic achievement, and financial need. In particular, they appear to place a strong emphasis on community service and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Please note that members of the Elks National Foundation and their immediate family members (children and grandchildren) are not eligible. This also applies to the children of deceased Elks members. Furthermore, students who have already begun their college education or who are planning to attend a community college are not eligible.
As with all scholarship applications, I recommend that you carefully read the fine print and make sure that you understand all of the details. Good luck with your application!
