Which majors have the most scholarships available?

I'm a high school junior exploring different majors and trying to figure out which ones might have the best scholarship opportunities. Are there certain fields where scholarships are more common? Would love to hear your experiences and suggestions!

There are indeed certain fields where scholarships are more densely populated compared to others. A few of these include:

1. STEM Fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics): STEM scholarships are quite prevalent, given the high demand for jobs in these fields. Many companies, foundations, governments, and universities provide scholarships for students to pursue their studies or research in these areas. For instance, scholarships like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ernest F. Hollings Undergraduate Scholarship Program are offered to students studying fields like Environmental Science.

2. Healthcare and Medical Studies: Especially since the demand for healthcare professionals never wanes, lots of scholarship opportunities exist in this field. Scholarships like the National Health Service Corps Scholarship, or the Tylenol Future Care Scholarship, are a few examples.

3. Education and Teaching: In order to promote quality education, numerous scholarships exist for students majoring in education. Some examples include the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant and various state-based programs.

4. Business and Economics: There are numerous scholarships out there for students who want to study business and economics as well, like the Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship for business students.

5. Law and Public Policy: Scholarships are also abundant in legal and public policy studies, such as the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation's scholarship for public service leaders.

Remember, while these fields may have a larger number of scholarships, you should still choose your major based on what you're truly interested in pursuing. Scholarships can certainly help finance your education, but they shouldn't dictate your passions or career path. Also, don't be discouraged if your proposed major isn't listed here; there are countless scholarships outside these fields. There are much more generic, merit-based scholarships that don't restrict you to a particular field of study.

Remember to leverage tools like Appily to search for scholarships that align best with your interests. You can filter by field, amount, competitiveness, and more to find scholarships that are the best match for you. Good luck with your search!
