Are there any unusual scholarships for high school students?

I'm a high school junior looking into scholarships as a way to pay for college. I'm particularly interested in finding any unusual or niche scholarships that aren't as well-known. Does anyone have tips on where to find these types of scholarships?

There are many unusual scholarships available to high school students, and they are often less competitive because fewer people know about or apply to them.

For instance, there is the "American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship." This organization provides scholarships to students who simply take a quiz on fire safety. It's unique and quite easy to apply for.

Another interesting one is the "Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest." For this scholarship, high school students must create a prom outfit completely out of duct tape, and the most creative outfit wins!

Then there's the "Tall Clubs International Scholarship." This one requires you to be a specific height - 5'10" for women and 6'2" for men. All you have to do is write an essay about what being tall means to you.

A more eccentric one is the "Zombie Apocalypse Scholarship" given for the best essay about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

Remember, even though these scholarships might be unusual, you still need to put an effort while applying to them. Start by reading the guidelines carefully, tailoring your application to the unique requirements of each scholarship, and proofreading for grammatical errors or inconsistencies.

To find more of these types of scholarships, I would recommend Appily (formerly known as Cappex) and the Scholarship Grab App. These platforms allow you to search for scholarships based on unique criteria, which can help you uncover some out-of-the-box opportunities.

Good luck with your scholarship search! It's great to see you taking a creative approach to funding your college education.
