Are there any college scholarships for autistic students in Florida?

I'm on the autism spectrum and live in Florida. I'm curious if there are any scholarships out there specifically for autistic students in my area. Any help or personal experiences would be appreciated!

Absolutely, there are several scholarships available to students on the autism spectrum throughout the United States, and there are a few I can recommend that are particularly relevant to Florida residents like yourself.

1. Dan Marino Foundation Scholarships: Operated by the well-known former Miami Dolphins quarterback, this foundation offers scholarships specifically for individuals on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities.

2. Autism Delaware Scholarships: While not exclusive to Florida, Autism Delaware offers several scholarships for residents of the United States. They offer the Daniel and Lois Gray Memorial Scholarship, among others, which provide funds for students with autism studying at an accredited institution.

3. Kelly Law Team Autism Scholarship: This is a nationwide scholarship that is open to individuals with autism who being legal residents of or officially authorized to study in the United States and will be attending college.

4. McKay Scholarships for Students with Disabilities Program: It's Florida's school voucher program for students with disabilities.

Remember that scholarship application deadlines, criteria, and award amounts can vary each year, so it's a good idea to check the official websites for the most updated information.

Lastly, do not underestimate applying to general scholarships that may not be autism-specific, but for which you still qualify. Many scholarships consider various factors such as academic achievement, community service, leadership, and personal characteristics. Scholarships can come from many sources – from both inside and outside the colleges to which you are applying. Make sure to explore Appily, your high school's college counseling office, and other online scholarship databases for more opportunities.

Best of luck with your applications!
