Location details for the Merchant Marine Academy?

I've heard a bit about the Merchant Marine Academy but I'm not sure where it's located. Can anyone provide some info on where the academy is, and what the area around it is like?

The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is located in Kings Point, New York. This places it on the North Shore of Long Island. Being in Kings Point, students have access to a suburban setting but they are also not too far from the bustling city life of New York City, which is about 22 miles away. This provides a great balance between tranquility for studying and city life for weekend explorations and excursions.

The academy itself is on a beautiful campus of around 82 acres, positioned on the banks of the Long Island Sound. This location is ideal for an institution focused on maritime activities, as students have direct access to the water. It's also located in close proximity to several parks and nature preserves, which can provide a needed escape from academic obligations. Not to mention, being near the water, students enjoy fairly moderate weather throughout the year.

Keep in mind though, the surrounding area is quite affluent, so any off-campus activities might be a bit expensive. But worry not, because the academy provides a vast range of on-campus activities to keep students engaged.
