Scholarships for International Students at Colleges

I'm an international student interested in studying in the U.S. and I'm looking for colleges that offer scholarships for international students. Does anyone know which schools have good financial aid packages for international students?

Finding colleges in the U.S. that offer generous financial aid to international students requires some targeted research. However, I'd like to point out a few notable examples.

Firstly, Harvard University, Yale University, and Princeton University have generous aid packages for international students. All three schools are need-blind and meet 100% demonstrated need for all students, including internationals. This means when they admit international students, they do so regardless of the student's ability to pay and then provide a financial aid package that covers the full cost of attendance, as determined by the family's financial status.

MIT is also need-blind and meets full need for international students. The school's average financial aid award for international students in recent years was over $60,000.

Amherst College is another school known for its financial aid packages. While the school isn't need-blind for international students, it is 'need-meeting', meaning that it meets 100% of the demonstrated need for the international students it does admit.

Dartmouth College, while not need-blind for international students, is committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted international students.

Lastly, it's worth looking into Vanderbilt University, which follows a need-based approach for international students, too, offering financial awards covering all demonstrated need.

These are just a few examples, and there may be universities or colleges beyond these that also offer substantial financial aid to international students. You should also make sure to fill out the necessary financial aid documents like the CSS Profile to be considered for institutional aid. And remember, each institution has unique application process and deadlines, so do check their respective financial aid pages and start the process early to avoid last-minute rushes.
