Which schools offer the most scholarships?

I'm trying to figure out which colleges or universities are known for offering a lot of scholarships to their students. Are there some schools that are particularly generous with their aid packages? Looking for ideas as I plan my applications.

It's great that you're actively pursuing colleges known for generous scholarship offerings. While many universities have extensive financial aid programs, some stand out due to their commitment to meet all demonstrated financial need or their comprehensive scholarship programs.

Schools that meet 100% of demonstrated financial need are particularly generous; they include top institutions like Harvard University, Princeton University, Vanderbilt University, and Stanford University. Such universities customarily offer generous aid packages, often in the form of grants that don't need to be repaid.

Additionally, some colleges and universities offer merit-based scholarships. These might be based on academic achievement, leadership qualities, or specific talents or skills. The University of Southern California, for example, offers several merit-based scholarships that cover half tuition, full tuition, or even offer a stipend for additional expenses. Boston University's Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus mandatory fees for four years, and it's given to 20 students each year.

Remember that you should also look into external scholarship opportunities beyond just what colleges may offer. There are also many scholarships available nationally or locally that are not tied to a specific college or university. For example, the Coca-Cola Scholars Program or the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship are both prestigious and generous scholarships open to high school seniors regardless of which college they plan to attend.

Lastly, don't forget to complete the FAFSA to qualify for federal aid and check out your schools' Net Price Calculator to get an estimate of what your financial aid package might look like. This can give you a great sense of how much aid you might be able to receive from each school. Good luck in your scholarship search!
