Are there scholarships available for students with anxiety disorders?

I'm wondering if there are any college scholarships specifically for students who have anxiety disorders. It's something I deal with, and I'd love to find financial help that's catered to my situation.

Absolutely, scholarships designed to support students with mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, do exist. While they may not be as widely available as scholarships based on fields of study or extracurricular accomplishments, with some diligent research, you could potentially find opportunities in this area.

One such scholarship is the Baer Reintegration Scholarship, available to students who are currently being treated for diagnosed bipolar disorder, schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Symptoms such as anxiety are often experienced by people with these disorders, though they technically are not anxiety disorders per se.

Beyond these specific scholarships, many general disability scholarships do also consider those with mental health conditions, so it can be worth checking those out as well. For example, the Incight Scholarship and the Google Lime Scholarship program include students with mental health conditions in their applicant pool.

In addition, some schools offer university-specific scholarships or financial aid for students with disabilities. You would need to check with the Disability Services office at specific colleges or universities to understand what might be available.

Remember, however, to always verify the legitimacy of scholarships to protect your personal information. Free applications and clear contact info are typically good signs, while requests for payment or vague details about sponsors might be red flags.

Whatever scholarships you decide to apply for, be sure to pay close attention to the requirements and deadlines so that you give yourself the best possible chance of success. Wishing you the best of luck!
