Which scholarships are most students unaware of?

I'm curious about scholarships that most students might overlook or not know about. If you have any hidden gems or uncommon scholarships, I would love to hear about them!

There are indeed some scholarships that students often do not consider, mainly because they are more niche or have a more specific application criteria. Here are a few you might not have heard of:

1. Duck Tape Stuck at Prom Contest: You've heard it right! This is a scholarship where students create their prom attire out of duct tape. The winning couple can get up to $10,000 each!

2. Davidson Fellows Scholarships: These are not for everyone as they are for prodigious projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy, or "Outside the box". Students 18 and under can win between $10,000 - $50,000.

3. The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship: High school seniors can enter by reading an essay about fire sprinklers and answering a short, open-book quiz on the material.

4. Scholarship Redhead Scholarship Program: Offered by the Scholarship Redhead, this scholarship awards red-headed students with scholarships for their unique hair color! The Scholarship Red Awards an annual scholarship to high school juniors and seniors, up to $500 bestowed in August.

5. Tall Clubs International Student Scholarships: If you are exceptionally tall, this might be the scholarship you never thought of. Women over 5'10" and men over 6'2" can apply and be eligible for $1000.

Of course, some of these scholarships are quite unique and not applicable to most students. Still, be creative in your search and consider your hobbies, characteristics, and unique features. They could provide a significant amount of money for college! Always remember that while these scholarships can be fun—your primary focus should be on scholarships that fit your profile academically!
