What are some national scholarships available for college?

I'm exploring college scholarships with a national scope and am curious which ones are worth applying to. If anyone has experience or recommendations for scholarships that students nationwide can apply for, please let me know!

There are several national scholarships that you might consider applying to:

1. The Coca-Cola Scholars Program: This scholarship program is pretty straight forward. Each year, they award $20,000 scholarships to 150 high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership in serving their communities.

2. The Gates Scholarship: This highly competitive scholarship program awards full scholarships to 300 high-performing, low-income high school seniors each year. The award includes full tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation, as well as some personal costs.

3. The Intel Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS): This is an opportunity for students who are interested in STEM fields and have completed independent science, math, or engineering research. The prizes are substantial, ranging from $1,000 to $250,000.

4. The National Merit Scholarship Program: This well-known program uses PSAT scores to determine semi-finalists, who then compete for the scholarships. The amount can range from a one-time $2,500 payout to a full ride.

5. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship supports high performing students with financial need in their journey to and through college. It can provide up to $40,000 per year, renewable for up to four years.

6. The Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Competition: This competition is open to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Scholarships range from $4,000 to $50,000 over the course of four years.

Remember, scholarships are not just about academic achievement but also about extracurricular activities, leadership, and community service. But do note that competition for these scholarships is fierce given their national scope. Good luck with your efforts!
