Which colleges in the USA offer scholarships for international students?

I'm an international student looking to study in the USA. Could someone help me out with a list of colleges that offer decent scholarships for international students? Especially looking for ones that could cover a substantial portion of tuition.

Sure! There are several U.S colleges that are known to be generous with their financial aid to international students:

1. Yale University is known for its need-based financial aid, which it extends to international students as well. They even state, quite clearly, "Yale admits undergraduate students without regard to their ability to pay and meets 100% of demonstrated financial need. For all students. Without loans."

2. Harvard University also extends need-based financial aid to international students, calculating aid in the same way for all students, regardless of nationality.

3. MIT is another school that offers need-based financial aid to international students on the same terms as domestic students.

4. University of Chicago offers a number of Merit Scholarships and need-based aid for international students.

5. Dartmouth College provides need-based financial aid to international students, with awards ranging from partial to full tuition and possibly even covering room and board.

6. Vanderbilt University is another instance of a need-blind school that is committed to meeting an international student's demonstrated need without loans.

Do note that these schools tend to be quite selective. So while they do offer substantial financial support, it can be competitive to gain admission. It's always a good idea to have a mix of “reach,” “target,” and “safety” schools on your list. Verify financial aid offerings and scholarships by checking the university’s official website or getting in touch with the admissions office, as policies can change from year to year.
