I'm an IEP student interested in learning about scholarships that might be available specifically for individuals like me. Does anyone know about scholarships or programs that cater to IEP students?
Absolutely, there are a number of scholarships specifically for either students with a disability or students on an IEP (Individualized Education Program) such as:
1. Anne Ford Scholarship: This is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) available to graduating high school seniors with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or AD/HD who will be enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s degree program.
2. Incight Scholarship: Incight has provided over 850 scholarships to students with disabilities pursuing higher education. These scholarships are not exclusive to any specific university.
3. The Shire National Scholarship: This scholarship supports individuals with ADHD who are pursuing higher education. The scholarship amount is $2,000 plus one year of ADHD coaching services. The scholarship is available to citizens of the U.S. who have been accepted to or enrolled in undergraduate programs.
4. Google Lime Scholarship: For students with a visible or invisible disability. This scholarship not only comes with a substantial $10,000 for the school year, but also a retreat and networking opportunities.
5. P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship: This $1,500 scholarship opportunity aims to support students who have learning difficulties and want to pursue a career in arts.
6. National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD): NCLD provides several scholarship programs for students with learning disabilities and AD/HD.
These are just a few examples. I encourage you to research more depending on your academic ambitions and extracurricular pursuits. Talking to your school's counselors might provide more targeted opportunities based on your other qualifications and interests as well. And remember, every little bit counts when it comes to scholarships!
Also don't forget a new tool called 'Appily' which might help you find other scholarship opportunities. Keep in mind that the key is to be persistent and apply for as many scholarships as you are eligible for. Best of luck in your scholarship search!
