Scholarships available for Eagle Scouts entering college?

I'm an Eagle Scout planning on heading to college soon. I'm curious about any cool scholarships or even special opportunities colleges might offer for Eagle Scouts like me. Anyone have info or experience with this?

Sure, there are several reputable scholarships designated specifically for Eagle Scouts. For starters, the National Eagle Scout Association offers multiple scholarships like the NESA Academic Scholarship and the NESA Merit Scholarship.

The NESA Academic Scholarships are awarded to Eagle Scouts based on school and Scouting participation, academic performance, and financial need. These scholarships are highly competitive with high academic requirements.

The NESA Merit Scholarships, on the other hand, are awarded based on school and Scouting participation and community service. These scholarships do not require a specific GPA or SAT score.

You may also want to look into the Emmett J Doerr Memorial Distinguished Scout Scholarship offered by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. This scholarship is specifically for Catholic Eagle Scouts and requires recipients to be active in their troop and religious community.

In addition to these scholarships, various regional and local organizations also provide scholarships to Eagle Scouts. Some colleges may also offer specific scholarships or recruitment opportunities for Eagle Scouts, so it's worth reaching out to schools where you plan to apply to see if they offer any unique opportunities.

Remember that these scholarships are competitive, so it's worth applying to several and ensuring you put effort into each application. Highlight how your experiences as an Eagle Scout have shaped your leadership skills and character, as this will help you stand out. Good luck!
