Information on fall 2025 college scholarships

Starting my search for college scholarships for fall 2025. Does anyone have insights into specific scholarships or deadlines I should be aware of?

Absolutely, it's great you're starting to think about scholarships for Fall 2024! It's important to start early as many scholarships have deadlines a year or more before the award year. Here are a few national scholarships you might consider.

1. Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Scholarships: Application typically opens in winter and closes in late January or early February. You do not have to be affiliated with McDonald's to apply.

2. Coca-Cola Scholars Program: The application period generally runs from August to October for high school seniors.

3. Dell Scholars Program: Applications usually open up in November for high school seniors and close in December. This is meant for low-income, highly motivated students who are better than their numbers indicate.

4. UNCF Scholarships: UNCF manages various scholarships and each program has its own eligibility criteria, open/close dates.

5. The Gates Scholarship: A highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding, minority, high school seniors. The application typically opens in July.

6. The Gen and Kelly Tanabe Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded twice a year; the winter deadline is generally at the end of July, and the summer deadline is usually at the end of December.

Remember, it's also beneficial to check in with your high school counselor about local scholarship opportunities. Many scholarships are offered by local businesses, clubs, non-profits, etc. and are only available to students from your community, and these local scholarships often have less competition than national scholarships.

Lastly, always refer to the scholarship provider's website for the most up-to-date information on application deadlines and eligibility criteria.
