Scholarships for Two-Year College Students?

I'm planning to start at a community college and transfer later. Are there any scholarships specifically for students attending two-year colleges that I should look into? Trying to make sure I have as many options as possible.

There are indeed scholarships specifically designed for students attending two-year colleges or community colleges. I am glad to see that you're budgeting for your education from the get-go!

One well-known organization that offers scholarships for community college students is the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. They provide various scholarship programs for their members. So, if you are enrolled in a two-year college and maintain a high GPA, it can be beneficial to join this organization.

Another good source of scholarship information is the college itself. Many community colleges offer institutional scholarships for students. This information can usually be found on the Office of Financial Aid's website.

Additionally, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has an Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship for top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor's degrees at a four-year institution. However, this is a highly competitive scholarship.

Remember, there are also many scholarships out there that aren't specifically designated for community college students but don't exclude them either. You should certainly look for scholarships in your local area, as these often have a smaller pool of applicants and a higher chance of winning.

Last but not least, don't forget to fill out the FAFSA each year you are in school, as you may be eligible for federal grants as well.

Be sure to apply to as many scholarships as you can and don't discount the smaller ones – they can add up! Happy scholarship hunting!
