What are the best high school scholarships for college?

I'm starting to plan for college and wondering about scholarships I can apply for while still in high school. What are some good ones, and do they have specific requirements? Trying to get as much covered as possible!

There are a lot of great scholarships you can start applying for in high school, often divided into academic scholarships, community service scholarships, and scholarships for specific fields or interests. Here's a sample of some scholarships:

1. National Merit Scholarship: Students qualify for this based on their PSAT scores in junior year. Semi-finalists and finalists can receive awards up to $2,500, or even more if sponsored by a corporation or college.

2. Coca-Cola Scholars Program: This scholarship for high school seniors awards 150 students with $20,000 each. The selection is largely based on leadership, service, and action that positively affects others.

3. Reagan Foundation Scholarship: This awards up to $40,000 to seniors who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.

4. Burger King Scholars Program: This is a merit-based program that awards scholarships to students with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher, who plan to enroll in an accredited two or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school.

5. Davidson Fellows Scholarship: This scholarship provides financial awards to students under 18 who have completed significant work in STEM fields, humanities, or outside the box thinkers.

6. Doodle 4 Google: This is an interesting one - students K-12 are invited to redesign the Google logo based on a specific theme. The national winner gets a $30,000 scholarship.

7. Appily's $1,000 "No Essay" College Scholarship: This one is quite straightforward. High school students just need to create a free profile on the Appily website to apply for this $1,000 scholarship.

Always remember to check each scholarship's specific requirements - some have GPA minimums or require certain coursework, essays, or involvement in certain activities. Remember that the more competitive the scholarship, the earlier you should start preparing your application. Good luck with your scholarship hunt!
