Scholarships for a 2.0 GPA: Are there options for college students like me?

I'm currently in college and working hard, but my GPA is around 2.0 right now. Are there any scholarships I might qualify for that don't have high GPA requirements? Any advice would be appreciated!

There are scholarships out there that don't hinge entirely on your GPA. I'll mention a few here but encourage you to conduct more in-depth research on the specifics since eligibility criteria for each will vary.

One you might consider is the "Do-Over" Scholarship, which does not have a GPA requirement and is more focused on a personal narrative. Applicants are asked to write an essay about what they would do differently if they could do a life 'do-over'.

There's also the Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway. This is a unique scholarship option because winners are chosen based on their answers to the prompt, "How will you change the world?" The prize is up to $100,000 in tuition.

Additionally, you might look into the Courage to Grow Scholarship. This scholarship is available to juniors and seniors in high school and college students with a minimum 2.5 GPA. The award is $500.

Lastly, consider the ScholarshipPoints Scholarship. The company gives out scholarships monthly and quarterly with no GPA requirements. Students earn points by reading articles and taking quizzes.

While these are just a few examples, there are many scholarships out there that consider things beyond GPA, such as community service, leadership experiences, creative talents, or other personal qualities. Make sure to research each scholarship thoroughly to understand its specific eligibility requirements. Also, many scholarships can be found using Appily's scholarship search function.

Remember not to get discouraged. Persistence is key in scholarship hunting, and there are plenty of opportunities out there that recognize students’ talents and potential beyond their GPA.
