Are There Scholarships for Students with Scoliosis?

I've dealt with scoliosis through high school, and with college on the horizon, I'm curious if there are scholarships specifically for students like me with scoliosis. Any tips on where to apply?

Indeed, there are scholarships designed specifically for students who've faced certain medical conditions, including scoliosis. While there isn't a large number of scholarships dedicated specifically to students with scoliosis, one that comes to mind is the "Bobby Campbell Scholarship" which is offered annually to students who have some form of spinal arthropathy.

Given the limited number of scoliosis-specific scholarships, I would also suggest looking into scholarships for students with disabilities more broadly, as these may also apply to your situation. For instance, "The 180 Medical Scholarship Program" offers students with a variety of medical conditions the opportunity to receive scholarships.

Additionally, be sure to explore scholarships that align with your other interests and affiliations. Scholarships can range wide in topics and sponsors. There could be scholarships based on your prospective field of study, community service, leadership experiences, and many others.

Remember also that your scoliosis experience could be a powerful narrative to share in your personal essay for general scholarship applications. It has likely built resilience and determination in you, and those are traits scholarship committees love to see.

Lastly, utilize scholarship search platforms such as Fastweb, Appily, and Scholarship.com to help you explore all potential opportunities out there. Make sure your profile on these platforms is up to date to increase the chances of finding more suitable scholarships.

Keep in mind, every scholarship counts, so apply to as many as you're eligible for. Good luck with your scholarship search!
