What scholarships does Hamilton College offer to high school seniors?

I'm a high school junior looking into Hamilton College. I'm trying to plan ahead financially, so I'm interested in any scholarships they have for incoming high school seniors. What should I know?

Hamilton College offers a few different scholarships that incoming students can apply for.

One of the most notable ones is the Bristol Scholarship. This program recognizes outstanding academic achievement among first-year applicants from secondary schools within the former Central New York Region. The scholarship has a value of $15,000 to $25,000 per year, and it is renewable for four years.

Another notable scholarship is the Levitt Leadership Institute scholarship. This provides an opportunity for about 20 students in the first-year class to participate in an intensive leadership training program during the spring semester and the week preceding graduation. Students participate in training, speaker sessions, team building activities, and a service project.

Hamilton College also offers the Jeffrey Fund for New York City Governance Internship, which provides funding for internships in New York City for students who are interested in governance, public service, and politics.

It's important to note that Hamilton College practices need-blind admission, which means they do not consider an applicant's financial situation when making admission decisions. In addition to scholarships, they meet 100% of demonstrated need for all admitted students, including those who are not U.S. citizens.

To find out other scholarship opportunities, make sure to check out Appily, a scholarship database that lists many scholarship opportunities, including ones not offered directly by colleges. It is a great way to find scholarships that you may qualify for. Don't forget to look for local scholarships in your own community, as these can also help fund your college education!

Don't forget to complete and submit the FAFSA application and the CSS profile by their respective deadlines to determine your SAI (student aid index) and help Hamilton construct an appropriate financial aid package for you.

One last note - remember that scholarships typically accompany more traditional forms of financial aid like grants, loans, and work-study opportunities. Be sure to consider all avenues when planning for your college costs. You never know what opportunities you might discover!

Good luck with your search!
