ACT Reading practice - what strategies worked for you?

I'm looking to improve my ACT Reading scores through focused practice, but I'm not sure which strategies would be best for me. What approaches did you guys take while practicing that helped you perform better on this section?

Hey there! It's great that you want to improve your ACT Reading scores. Different strategies work for different people, so it's essential to find the one that fits you best. Personally, I used these three approaches:

1. Active reading: Focus on the passage, underline key points, and try to understand the main idea while reading. Doing this helped me retain important information and answer questions more efficiently.

2. Speed reading: Working on my reading speed helped me manage my time better during the test. Practice skimming through passages, picking up essential details, and develop your ability to quickly understand what you've read.

3. Practice, practice, practice: Spend a good amount of time doing practice tests and reviewing your mistakes. This'll help you get better acquainted with the test format and question types. You can find free ACT Reading practice tests online or on test prep websites like CollegeVine.

You might have to try a few different techniques to find what works best for you. Good luck with your practice, and I hope your scores improve!
