South Carolina College Scholarships for SAT Scores

I'm planning to attend college in South Carolina. Does anyone know about scholarships specifically awarded based on SAT scores there? I'd like to know what range I should be aiming for to be competitive.

In South Carolina, there are a few scholarships that specifically consider SAT scores in their eligibility criteria:

1. Palmetto Fellows Scholarship: This is a merit-based program and you could potentially receive up to $6,700 during your freshman year and up to $7,500 for your sophomore, junior, and senior years. For eligibility, you need to have a minimum SAT score of 1200, high school GPA of 3.5, and rank in the top 6% of your class.

2. LIFE Scholarship: It's another merit-based scholarship awarded by the state. You must have a minimum SAT score of 1100 and high school GPA of 3.0. The LIFE Scholarship provides up to $4,700 plus a $300 book allowance.

3. HOPE Scholarship: This scholarship does not consider SAT scores but is worth mentioning as well. If you have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 but do not meet the SAT requirement for the LIFE or Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, you might qualify for the HOPE Scholarship. It provides $2,800 plus a $300 book allowance for your first year of college only.

It's important to note that these scholarships can only be used at eligible South Carolina colleges. Also, keep in mind that these are high-level criteria and there may be additional requirements or considerations.

These are just a few examples, and different universities in South Carolina may offer their own merit-based scholarships, some of which may be based on SAT scores. Checking with each individual school you're interested in would provide the most accurate information. Additionally, diversifying your scholarship search to include non-SAT-based scholarships will help maximize your scholarship opportunities.
