Are there scholarships for students with ADHD going to college?

I'm a high school junior with ADHD, wondering if there are specific scholarships available for students like me. I want to make sure I have as much financial support as possible when I apply for college next year.

Absolutely, there are several scholarships specifically designed for students with ADHD, aiming to support them in their pursuit of college education.

1. The RiSE Scholarship Foundation, for example, offers an annual scholarship for students with diagnosed learning disabilities, including ADHD. Each year, the foundation awards five individual recipients $2,500, and a potential additional $500 may be awarded depending on the level of financial need.

2. The Incight Scholarship is another noteworthy option. It's open to students with any kind of disability, including ADHD. The value of this scholarship varies each year.

3. The Anne Ford Scholarship, offered by the National Center for Learning Disabilities, is another one that you might be eligible for. This is a $10,000 scholarship ($2,500/year over four years) granted to a high school senior with a documented learning disability (LD) and/or ADHD.

Keep in mind though, competition can be high for these scholarships. So, it's important to put effort into your application and ensure you meet all the criteria before applying.

In addition to these ADHD-specific scholarships, it's also a good idea to seek out scholarships based on other aspects of your profile such as academic performance, extracurricular involvement, or big ideas in a particular field. The key here is to cast a wide net and diversify the kinds of scholarships you pursue.

You've got the right idea in starting your scholarship search early! Good luck on your journey!
