Scholarships for family members of veterans?

My dad is a veteran, and I've heard there are scholarships available for family members like me. Does anyone have info on how to find these scholarships and what eligibility looks like?

Indeed, many organizations offer scholarships specifically for family members of veterans, providing financial assistance for college or other educational programs. Here are a few noteworthy ones:

1. American Patriot Freedom Scholarship (From the American Veterans (AMVETS) Association): AMVETS rewards scholarships to veterans, active military, their sons or daughters, or even grandchildren. There are multiple levels of scholarships which they offer based on eligibility.

2. ThanksUSA Scholarship Program: This national non-profit organization provides scholarships to the children and spouses of active-duty personnel across all the military branches.

3. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation: This one is specifically for children of Marine or Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists. They offer scholarships for undergraduate and career technical education programs.

4. Army Scholarship Foundation: They offer scholarships to children of current or former Army service members or spouses of current Army service members.

5. Heroes' Legacy Scholarships: This is for the children of deceased or disabled veterans who died or were severely disabled during their service.

Eligibility varies by scholarship. You could be required to demonstrate financial need, maintain a certain GPA, or be pursuing a specific course of study. I'd recommend researching each scholarship to understand their individual requirements. Moreover, while these are some well-known ones, there are likely more local scholarships available as well that may be worth looking into. Appily is a useful tool for finding scholarships, as it allows you to search by demographic, field of study, and more. Hope this gives you a good starting point!
