When looking for scholarships, one of the first places you should check is the financial aid office of the community college you plan to attend. They often have information about local scholarships and may have specific funding sources for their students.

Alabama Community College System Foundation provides scholarships that you may be eligible for. Check their website for details and eligibility requirements. In addition, Alabama Community College Conference also offers some athletic scholarships if you are planning on participating in sports at the community college level.

If you're an Alabama resident, you may want to consider the Alabama Student Assistance Program, a state-based aid that provides scholarships to eligible students attending eligible Alabama institutions.

Another potential resource is Appily (formerly known as Cappex). Appily is a scholarship search tool that offers a comprehensive listing of scholarships based on your academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and specific personal attributes.

Keep in mind that many scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic merit, or participation in certain activities. Some scholarships may require that you write essays or complete specific projects. Make sure to read the eligibility requirements carefully and apply only to scholarships for which you meet all the criteria.

Remember, scholarship applications often require essays, letters of recommendation, and/or resumes detailing your achievements and involvement. Be prepared to submit these as part of your applications.

Lastly, consider applying for a Federal Pell Grant, which is money the government provides for students who need it to pay for college. Pell Grants do not have to be repaid, making them a valuable resource for students attending community colleges. You can apply by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which uses your family's financial information to determine your eligibility for need-based aid.

Good luck with your search and your studies! It's great that you're being proactive in funding your education!
