Scholarships for Illinois community colleges?

I'm considering enrolling in a community college in Illinois and I'm trying to figure out my financial situation. Does anyone know of good scholarships available for Illinois community college students? Would love some recommendations or personal experiences!

Absolutely, there are quite a few scholarships available for Illinois community college students.

One notable one is the Illinois Community College Faculty Association (ICCFA) Scholarship. This one is granted to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher who are attending one of the 48 member community colleges in Illinois.

The Illinois Community College Trustees Association offers multiple scholarships as well. They have a Gigi Campbell Student Trustee Scholarship, which is exclusively for student trustees, and also a Lifelong Learner Scholarship, which targets non-traditional students aged 31 or older.

An additional resource would be the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC). They maintain a listing of scholarships available to Illinois community college students and can be an invaluable resource in your search.

Also, don't forget to explore scholarships offered directly from the community college you're planning to attend. Often, community colleges have their own unique scholarships based on different criteria including academic merit, financial need, field of study, and more.

Lastly, you can also check out Appily, a platform that has a huge database of scholarships and can suggest scholarships you may be eligible for based on the information you enter into your profile.

Remember, it's best to apply for as many scholarships as you qualify for. Scholarships can often be less competitive than you might think. Keep track of all deadlines and take your time crafting your applications. You may be surprised at how much funding is available to help you pursue your education!
